Yesterday, French striker Karim Benzema signed a contract extension with Spanish capital football club Real Madrid, the club announced via their official website. The new contract runs until June 2021.
Now-29-year-old Benzema joined Los Blancos from Lyon in 2009. Since then the French international has won fourteen trophies including three UEFA Champions League titles and two LaLiga titles.
Since joining the club at age 21, Benzema has featured in 371 matches for the club and scored 181 goals.
Per the previous contract, Benzema was tied to Real Madrid until June 2019. Earlier, Brazilian defender Marcelo, and Spanish midfielder Isco and his compatriot Dani Carvajal, signed contract extensions with Madrid until June 2022. Madrid announced agreement to contract extension with Benzema on Wednesday.
